Albany Centre in Auckland's North Shore has been given a major shot in the arm after the announcment of multimillion dollar developments.
Resource consent has been granted to development company Rose Garden Development for a major new mixed-use development to increase vitality in Albany (on Don McKinnon Dr in Albany’s town centre.)
Rose Garden will develop 201 residential units with a further 10 commercial units, as well as three live/work units, communal gardens and a new road with 20 additional on-street car parking spaces.
The first phase is a 200-bed development of one to four-bedroom apartments, complete with their own balconies, all on a 6,700sqm site with ground floor commercial tenancies.
The value of the first phase is $65 million.
The units will be designed by Context Architects and director Stephen Voyke says the development will create a distinctive presence and is in-line with the District Plan’s intended compact form for Albany Centre.
“The development delivers on the District Plan’s desire for intensification in Albany centre, meets Auckland Council’s economic and social objectives to increase the vitality and viability of the area, and contributes to easing housing affordability and availability in Auckland.”
