Experienced senior executive Peter Dryden has been appointed to the Port Taranaki Board of Directors.

Mr Dryden takes up the position that has been vacant since the death of Craig Norgate last year.

Having spent the past nine years as Managing Director Australia and New Zealand for Dow AgroSciences and, before that, Managing Director New Zealand for Dow Agro from 2000-2007, Mr Dryden is a seasoned executive with business leadership experience in company general management, commercial management, R&D management, new business development, and new technologies.

He has worked in leadership positions across Asia, Australia and New Zealand, and has a strong background in development and implementation of growth strategies and change management.

Mr Dryden is experienced in company governance, having taken a number of directorships in Australia and New Zealand, including Chairman of Advantage Wheats PTY and director of Dow AgroSciences Australia.

“I’m now resident in Taranaki and very enthusiastic to see the future success of Port Taranaki and its positive impact on the economy of the region,” Mr Dryden said.

Port Taranaki Chairman John Auld said Mr Dryden would make a valuable addition to the Board.

“I am delighted to have Peter join our Board. His international business experience together with his commitment to ensuring best environment and health and safety practices across our complex operating site will be of considerable value to Port Taranaki.”
