Commerce Minister Simon Power has announced the appointment of lawyer Peter Dengate-Thrush to the Copyright Tribunal for a five year term.
The tribunal, which has a chair and two members, hears disputes between licensing bodies, or proposed licensing bodies, and those who hold or seek licences in respect of works of copyright.
Mr Dengate-Thrush, who specialises in internet, intellectual property and technology cases, replaces Judith Fyfe. The other members are chairwoman Susy Frankel and member Paul Sumpter.
