Great Britain: GDP growth numbers have been a bit slower than expected.
“The UK election is in just a week, so these numbers are going to add a lot of fuel to the already quite heated elections over there.”
Greece: In his first interview with media since the beginning of the year, Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras has ruled out a default on its loans.
“He said if the lenders to Greece insist on demands which are 'unacceptable,' he would resort to a referendum."
And there is a new buzzword for what’s happening in Greece…
Obama and the TPP: Obama outlined this week that if US fail to enact the TPP, China will step into the resulting economic vacuum.
“Obama says if the TPP is fails to be enacted, the US will be shut out and US jobs in agriculture and many other jobs will be lost.”
Japan’s Prime Minister was in the US this week and threw his support behind the deal.
US interest rates and GDP: The Fed has held fire on a rate hike, and GDP numbers were lower than expected.
