NBR Rich Lister Eric Watson’s part-owned Cullen Agricultural Holding Corp is planning a merger with a US-based iced tea maker, but it has been revealed this company is embroiled in a number of legal actions.

Long Island Brand Beverages is seeking a damages claim of US$10 million against one company, but another is seeking US$940,000 for alleged breach of contract.

The Mark Lundy retrial has ended with a guilty verdict after 16 hours of deliberation over more than two days, with the jury unanimous in finding Mr Lundy guilty of the murder of his wife and daughter.

ASB Bank is trying to call in a loan to former Crafar farm bidder Jack Chen, who has defaulted on his mortgage.

Mr Chen, also known as Chen Keen or Ke En Chen, is known in New Zealand for his association with bankrupt businesswoman May Wang in a failed bid for the Crafar farms, eventually bought by China’s Shanghai Pengxin for $200 million.
