Michele Embling selected as Chair of PwC New Zealand
PwC New Zealand Partner and National Assurance Leader, Michele Embling has been appointed Chair of the New Zealand firm for a four year term, effective 1 October 2016.

PwC New Zealand Partner and National Assurance Leader, Michele Embling has been appointed Chair of the New Zealand firm for a four year term, effective 1 October 2016.
Ms Embling has been a Partner at the firm for 11 years, a member of the executive team for four years and has spent a total of almost 16 years at the firm.
Ms Embling succeeds Jonathan Freeman, who has been Chairman since June 2012. Mr Freeman will complete his term on 30 September and continue as a Senior Assurance Partner. Mr Freeman has served as Chairman during a time of significant growth and expansion, including the acquisition of the digital, real estate and tax pooling businesses which now form part of PwC.
“It is a pleasure to welcome Michele as our next Chair. Michele has led our Assurance practice for the past three years and has a successful track record of leading transformation projects. She is widely respected in the market for her ability to influence and bring people together,” says CEO and senior partner Bruce Hassall.
“As Chair, I will work with the Board to ensure we provide consistent advice to the Executive team, guiding and supporting them on matters of financial and reputational impact. The reason I became a Partner at PwC was to make a positive difference on both a personal and professional level. It is why I am proud to be a Partner at PwC and now it drives my commitment as Chair.
