MediaWorks has hired TV veteran Mark David as chief commercial officer.
MediaWorks has rounded off its executive team with the appointment of Mark David as chief commercial officer.
Chief executive Mark Weldon confirmed the hire in a media release this afternoon.
“Mark really ticked all the boxes with his TV, digital, data and content background both in New Zealand and overseas,” Mr Weldon says.
He cites Mr David’s “proven track record for creating rapid and profitable sales growth in a range of environments” as a reason to be “truly excited” about what he will bring to MediaWorks.
Mr David started his television career in 1989 at TVNZ before moving to the UK eight years later for a job at MTV Europe.
Since then, he has worked in several executive positions and co-founded three start-up companies including the UK’s largest local television network.
Mr Weldon also confirmed Alana O’Neill will lead the newly-merged integration and branded content division, which involves organising sponsorship opportunities for brands. Ms O’Neill will report to Glen Kyne, who has been appointed as head of the “new businesses area.”
“Both of these roles are incredibly important for the organisation, and we are confident they will thrive in these positions,” Mr Weldon says.
