Rachel Lorimer says she's "sad to leave" but has a job lined up at St John.
MediaWorks communications head Rachel Lorimer is leaving the company on June 19 to take up the role of head of communications at St John.
"I'll be sad to leave but I'm looking forward to the new role," she tells NBR ONLINE. "I have had a good run at MediaWorks and the role with St John is an exciting new career change and a positive career move."
Her departure follows two-thirds of the senior executive team leaving late last year.
She has no immediate replacement and has been with the company for four years.
Her departure comes as the TV, radio and digital media company is never far from the headlines. Recent hot topics include its preparation for sale, the Campbell Live review and controversies surrounding its reality TV shows.
Media coverage of the company has increased significantly since the appointment of former NZX-boss Mark Weldon.
He, along with senior executives and board members (Julie Christie among them), has an incentive to sell the company.
LA-based private equity firm Oaktree recently increased its shareholding to 77.8%.
The company posted an after-tax net profit of $11.9 million for the ten months and 22 days to September 30 following the company's restructure, which saw senior lenders convert their debt to equity in the new entity. The previous result was a $90 million loss.
