BMW New Zealand managing director Mark Gilbert is retiring.
Mr Gilbert says his departure is in line with the company's international retirement policy, after almost 25 years with it in various sales, marketing and management roles.
"Most importantly, we have returned BMW Group New Zealand to its rightful position, as lead of the premium car segment."
He says his retirement will allow someone new to lead the company into an exciting new phase, which will include the BMW i brand.
Mr Gilbert says he will not be found gardening or sitting around in "retirement".
"I intend to take a short break and then explore new opportunities, including some directorships, following several approaches I have received in recent months."
