FLASH BACK: Macquarie banker David Kiely (back to camera) is caught on live TV accessing Miranda Kerr's assets.
In the wake of Macquarie’s rather good result today, Private Bin thought it would check in to see whether client investment banker David Kiely was still in gainful employment.
You may recall that, in early February, Mr Kiely was caught on camera accessing the assets of semi-naked swimsuit model Miranda Kerr.
The bust came during a live cross to Channel 7, during which a colleague in the foreground discussed the day’s market action.
While a rash of websites launched "Save David's job" campaigns, many commentators predicted Mr Kiely would be shown the door.
But when NBR called Macquarie’s Private Wealth division in Sydney this morning, Mr Kiely was at desk, and answered his phone.
Disappointingly, he offered only “I have no comment,”,“no comment” and “look I really have no comment” when asked how the Kerr affair had panned out.
NBR will resist the urge to email Mr Kiely a photo of Lara Bingle later today, about around Channel 7 news throw time. Probably.
