Lion Nathan confirms pitch news

Wed, 01 Sep 2010

Lion Nathan has confirmed Monday's news about its pitch winners for Lion Red and Waikato Draught.

As reported by NBR, DDB has won Lion Red and Josh&Jamie have won Waikato Draught.

As Josh&Jamie have recently bought merged with Assignment Group, it'll become the latter's client.

"Both agencies came up with incredibly strong and exciting campaign ideas that we will launch in 2011," Mark Scown, brand manager for Lion Red and Waikato Draught said in a media statement.

"A key part of both briefs was to come up with a consistent and compelling brand identity. Each of the agencies won on the grounds of a unique approach that will give us the opportunity to spotlight these iconic beers."

DDB managing director Justin Mowday said in a media statement that the win is exciting.

"[It] is evidence of our ability to develop bold ideas that span digital, experiential, PR and advertising – lots of agencies are still talking ‘integration’ and ‘digital’, but we’re really interested in creating moments with consumers utilising whatever channel is appropriate to deliver a quality brand engagement."

DDB ECD Toby Talbot said: "Lion Red is one of the classic Kiwi brands. We look forward to making it the centre of all maledom again."
