If Metiria Turei's strategy in admitting benefit fraud was to win over soft Labour voters, it's working.

Labour has slumped to its worst ever result in a 1 News Colmar Brunton poll — or at least its lowest point since Colmar Brunton began political polling 22 years ago.
The party has slumped three points to 24% while the Greens are up four to 15%.
National (47%) and NZ First (11%) are steady.
As with other recent polls, National and its immediate allies ACT, UnitedFirst and the Maori Party can't get to a 61 seat majority, leaving NZ First as kingmaker (notably, Winston Peters is one of the few to have held fire on Ms Turei's benefit fraud).
The poll also sees The Opportunities Party double its support to 2%, a new high.
