The Interactive Advertising Bureau’s general manager Alisa Higgins has quit, prompting a rethink of how the body is governed.
In July Ms Higgins will leave to become an industry consultant providing marketing advice to publishers. She has been with the IAB for more than five years.
Acting IAB chairman John-Paul Randall says the resignation has prompted a rethink and the IAB will next use a part- time chief executive to represent the market.

He says Ms Higgins has been a champion for the interactive media industry through a period of transformation.
Recruitment for a new IAB head will begin in coming weeks.
In March the IAB appointed Mr Randall – who is digital sales manager at TVNZ – as chairman after incumbent Dan Robertson stepped down. Mr Robertson stepped down as chairman because his new role at MediaWorks meant there were two from that broadcaster on the body.
