Ignite has appointed multiple award-winning architect and designer Richard Voss as director of commercial and sustainability lead.
Across his 25-year career, Mr Voss has worked for a host of blue-chip clients including Harrods, Deutsche Telecom, Deloitte, SkyCity, KPMG, Air New Zealand and TVNZ. His contribution to New Zealand’s built landscape is immense, having spent the past 12 years at a leading New Zealand architectural practice delivering high-profile projects such as the Deloitte Centre, ANZ Centre, and the TVNZ building in Auckland.
“Richard is an outstanding architect with a portfolio of award-winning architectural and interior designs that spans the globe,” says Ignite managing director Jeremy Whelan.
“International collaboration is Richard’s strength, and his leadership in this area is going to be of tremendous importance to Ignite as our industry and practice continue to evolve.”
Mr Voss developed expertise on large corporate buildings for J Walter Thompson and KPMG in Germany, where he also designed social housing. Moving to the UK he worked on urban regeneration projects, council offices, luxury housing developments, a private art gallery and retail space for Harrods.
His work across the commercial, workplace design, hospitality, and heritage sectors makes him a uniquely experienced designer who is also a firm believer in understanding the entire build process. He has a passion for ensuring designs are not only visually attractive but practical and cost-effective to build, with strong sustainable principles.
“This is an exciting time not only for architecture and design, but for every industry, as we experience massive transformation,” Mr Voss says.
“I am delighted to be joining the Ignite team during their own period of sustained growth, and I am looking forward to collaborating with clients to support their aspirations for commercial, workplace and hospitality environments.”
