Retailers on Auckland’s High St have opened a special short term Christmas gift store with all proceeds going to Auckland City Mission.
The High St Lucky Christmas Shop sells gift wrapped mystery gifts priced from $10 to $100 containing goods donated from retailers that are members of business organisation The High St Guild.
Gifts are wrapped with pink ribbons for females, blue for males and black for unisex.
Items purchased can include pieces from fashion houses with stores on High St including Zambesi, Workshop, Helen Cherry, Kate Sylvester, Karen Walker, Working Style and Crane Bros.
Other gifts include Tom Ford spectables from Mortimer Hirst Optometrists, accommodation at the Metropolis and Hotel deBrett, bars Rakinos and Cassette #9, pieces from gift store Pauanesia and driver training from BMW.
“It’s a charitable Christmas gift with a great point of difference. Not only is a donation gifted directly to the Auckland City Mission on the recipient’s behalf, but shoppers also get a cool gift from High Street,” Workshop designer and founder Chris Cherry said.
“The High St. Guild has been created to reignite Aucklanders’ passion for High Street – we want to celebrate the joys of living and working in the inner city and promote High Street as not only the ultimate shopping district but as the social and cultural heart of Auckland.”
The store, located at 33 High St, is open seven days until Christmas Eve.
