Grey Lynn Bunnings beats local objections

The Environment Court has given DIY giant Bunning the green light for its Arch Hill store – albeit with conditions attached. (see the order attached)

The company plans to build a three-story building at 272-302 Great North Rd, bordering Grey Lynn and Arch Hill.

Outraged local residents objected because they were not notified of Bunnigns’ intent. They argued the building would increase traffic and commercialise the neighbourhood.

Under the Judge Jeff Smith-ordered conditions, Bunnings is required to disclose details of the plans for construction to the Arch Hill residents and neighbouring Kindercare Learning Centre.
