Green Cross Health is pleased to announce the appointment of Alison Van Wyk as chief executive of the community health division.
Currently group manager, professional services for Green Cross Health medical and pharmacy divisions, Ms Van Wyk will lead Access Community Health and specialist nursing services Total Care Health. The 4000-strong team currently services more than 21,000 clients in their own homes.
Ms Van Wyk has a background in nursing and possesses sales, marketing and management experience within the pharmaceutical, medical device and healthcare supply chain markets both within New Zealand and internationally. Instrumental in establishing professional programmes of clinical care and advice in pharmacy and the reclassification of medicines for Green Cross Health, she has taken a leadership role in advocacy for pharmacy and government relations within the health industry.
Green Cross Health chairman Peter Merton says “It is a real pleasure to announce Alison as our CEO for our community health division. We are confident that Alison’s leadership skills combined with understanding of the health care industry is a great combination to lead the organisation at a time when we, along with all providers of health care in the community, are operating in an environment severely challenged by funding and service delivery issues.”
Ms Van Wyk will commence her new role on June 18.
“I would also like to acknowledge our outgoing CEO, Simon Lipscombe for his dedication to meeting the needs of the communities he has serviced during the last three years and wish him every success for the future,” says Mr Merton.
