Martin Victor Lyttelton – the former head of Calan Healthcare – could spend another 13 months in prison after being sentenced again for the shotgun and knife attack on his ex-business partner and his wife in 2008.

Lyttelton, 57, was in March found guilty of the attempted murder of Richard Ord, causing grievous bodily harm to Colleen Fenton, and aggravated burglary of their North Shore home, reports say.

He was in 2010 sentenced to nearly six years’ jail after pleading guilty to the charges, but, after serving his sentence, was granted an appeal in 2014.

His unsuccessful defence at the retrial had been he was affected by drugs and mental illness during the offending.

Reports today say Justice Raynor Asher in the Auckland High Court sentenced Lyttelton to seven years in prison but, depending on when he can be heard by the parole board, Lyttelton might only serve days because of the time he has already served.

At the most, he will be in jail for another 13 months.
