Fonterra is keeping quiet on security arrangements for a shipment of milk powder due to arrive in India this week.
Reports over the weekend that the Indian government was courting controversy because of milk powder imports when there was a domestic glut of product escalated to threats of violence against Fonterra shipment.
The ship is due to dock in Mumbai on Wednesday, but Fonterra spokesman Graeme McMillan said he could provide no information about it.
“It’s for the Indian government to deal with,” he said.
