Flights cancelled as superfog blankets Auckland

Many domestic, international flights delayed or diverted.

Sat, 25 Jul 2015

Flight restrictions are in place at Auckland International Airport as dense fog blankets the city this morning, Auckland Airport advises.

The fog has affected both domestic and international flights, with 24 regional flights cancelled and 12 regional and  international flights delayed as of 9am.

The major cities have been largely unaffected, with one domestic flight to Christchurch delayed but leaving Wellington, Dunedin and Queenstown flights to operate as usual.

Two international arriving flights have been affected by the fog delays, with a Virgin Airlines flight from Rarotonga diverted to Christchurch Airport.

Passengers are advised to check Auckland Airport's website or smartphone app for the latest flight information.
