Fiji Airways doubles flights to Christchurch

South Islanders get more choice for international travel.
Fiji Airways is doubling its capacity to Christchurch from next winter.
The weekly flight on Saturdays will be complemented by a permanent extra service on Tuesdays from June 23, 2015.
Both flights also offer a one-stop service from Christchurch to Los Angeles via Nadi, managing director Stefan Pichler says.
“The additional service will be a real benefit to South Island travellers planning to rest and relax in Fiji, as well as those using Nadi as a transit point to Los Angeles and other North American cities,” he says.
The new service will offer an extra 328 seats between Christchurch and Nadi while leisure travellers will have more options when booking flights.
“As the only airline to offer child discounted airfares as well as offering a business class travel option directly from Christchurch to Fiji, we believe Fiji Airways is well positioned in the South Island market and will prove popular among travellers,” Mr Pichler says.
Fiji Airways has been operating a year-round service to Christchurch since 1997.
