Equity crowdfunder Equitise has acquired local technology company directory Rabble, which was created by Southgate Labs for businesses to raise their profile, recruit, and attract investment and advice.
Southgate co-founder Rowan Simpson says the site has grown to feature more than 600 New Zealand companies since it was launched in 2013, including high-tech, e-commerce and life science businesses.
It was not disclosed how much the deal was worth.
“We originally built Rabble because we thought it was an important resource for early-stage companies in New Zealand who wanted to raise their profile, build their team and attract investors and advisors,” says Mr Simpson.
“We’re excited the team at Equitise share this view and look forward to seeing it continue to flourish in the future as part of their platform.”
Equitise will run Rabble in tandem with the equity crowdfunding platform, and give Rabble members easy access to crowd-funding opportunities.
Equitise launched at the end of January as the third equity crowdfunding platform to receive a licence from the Financial Markets Authority.
Its first raise, for mobile technology and tourism business Tourism Radio NZ is more than 37% subscribed with 40 days to run.
