A pattern of big-money bets on test nations playing minnows at the Cricket World Cup continues today.
The TAB says one punter has put $60,000 (at odds of $1.01, for a return of $60,600) on South Africa to beat UAE in Wellington this afternoon.
The event has already seen a trio of $40,000 bets on one-sided games, each of which has seen the favourite carry the day. The TAB won't say if the same person is involved.
Yesterday, $40,000 was wagered on Sri Lanka betting Scotland at $1.03, securing a $41,200 return.
Earlier, $40,000 was placed on New Zealand to beat Afghanistan in Napier at the same odds.
And on February 17, the same amount was bet on New Zealand beating Scotland. After an unexpectedly nail-biting finish, the Black Caps carried the day and Mr (or Ms) $40,000 collected $800.
