Conservative Party leader Colin Craig and Green Party co-leader Russel Norman released a joint statement today announcing they had resolved their dispute over comments Mr Norman made about Mr Craig at the Big Gay Out earlier this year.
Mr Norman had claimed Mr Craig "thinks a woman's place is in the kitchen" and "a gay man's place is in the closet.”
In response, the Conservative leader filed a defamation case against the Green co-leader regarding his comment about Mr Craig’s attitude to women.
The statement says, "Both accept that the comments were made on a political occasion but they disagree about what the comments were understood to mean.
"Neither party considers there is value in continuing with the dispute in the courts."
Messrs Craig and Norman – both of whom raised donations from supporters to cover their legal fees – have agreed to bear their own costs.
