Court action involving the sale of TigerTurf; a bankrupt’s move after he received a confidential report from his bank; and a former glamour couple’s $1.2 million property feud have filled NBR’s court pages this week.
In NBR Print today, court reporter Hamish McNicol details a dispute over the final payment in the near $50 million sale of TigerTurf, once linked to the late Tony Timpson, and which is headed back to court.
Mr McNicol says the Court of Appeal has allowed certain causes of action to be reinstated and heard again by the High Court, relating to multinational company TenCate’s purchase of the Auckland-based synthetic turf manufacturer.
The court documents also reveal further detail about the sale, which was previously undisclosed.
Earlier in the week, a man whose company owed ANZ $566,000 allegedly “threatened to further misuse” a confidential report the bank inadvertently sent him, saying “I think the ANZ Bank has bigger issues to deal with than I.”
Mr McNicol says Markus Blum denies telling ANZ he would keep the report in exchange for favourable treatment of his debt but the Court of Appeal has found otherwise and ordered he not disclose the information.
Finally, on Wednesday it was revealed former glamour couple Spiros Poros and Kylie Bax are in a $1.2 million relationship property dispute after ending their marriage of nine years.
Mr Poros wants access to various documents relating to a $1.2 million Cambridge property which became the family home, and which he was later trespassed from, but the High Court has blocked his bid.
