Colliers is looking for more agents to join its new West Auckland office.

Colliers Auckland managing director Charles Cooper says the firm needs 50 extra people across Auckland’s CBD, Highbrook, North Shore and West Auckland offices over the next year.

A main area he identifies is in the company’s commercial investment sales team.

Colliers is also looking for staff fluent in Mandarin and/or Cantonese.

And Mr Cooper is seeking a manager to lead the south Auckland investment sales team, which will be based at Highbrook alongside its industrial team.

As part of its expansion Colliers will open a West Auckland office early next year, headed by Deborah Dowling.

The business is currently operating out of the main Auckland offices.

Ms Dowling joins the new business from the Colliers’ North Shore office, where she has worked since 2005. Last year she was awarded the company’s Auction Broker of the Year title.

Mr Cooper says the new office will be the company’s first to open in Auckland since launching its Highbrook industrial office in 2007.

Rival agency Bayleys is also widening its purview – in the east.

Bayleys has acquired the Howick branch of Professionals: Star Real Estate.

Located at 110 Ridge Rd, the branch has become Bayleys’ second office in the area, with an existing office in nearby Picton St.

The acquisition of the Star Real Estate business means 11 residential salespeople and three administrators from the company will transfer to the Bayleys group, led by manager Gavin Hamilton.

The new Ridge Rd office will operate under the Bayleys brand from this week.

Bayleys’ existing Howick branch currently has a team of 14 salespeople.
