Chandan Ohri to lead IBM’s Global Business Services in New Zealand

IBM New Zealand has appointed Chandan Ohri as Managing Partner of its Global Business Services team in New Zealand.

IBM New Zealand (NYSE: IBM) has appointed Chandan Ohri as Managing Partner of its Global Business Services team in New Zealand. He brings a range of business and IT consulting skills and industry leadership experience to IBM, gained in New Zealand, Australia and India.

Chandan will be responsible for the Digital and Cognitive, Application Innovation, CIO Advisory and Enterprise Application service lines across the financial services, public sector, distribution and commercial industries.

As a trusted advisor to business leaders, Chandan has seen how technology is enabling organisations and industries to innovate and change while retaining their differentiators. He has also observed the growing speed at which organisations must make decisions in the face of competitors enabled by emerging cloud and cognitive technologies.

Chandan’s governance and advocacy experience includes several voluntary positions with the Australia New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants, CPA Australia and Information Systems and Control Association. He served as President of CPA Australia for two years during 2014 and 2015, and is active in India New Zealand business relations as Chair of the New Zealand Chapter of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

Most recently Chandan spent six years with KPMG in Auckland, where he led the New Zealand IT consulting team. His roles included Chief Technology Officer and Head of Business Intelligence and DataAnalytics, and Asia Pacific Regional Leader for Microsoft Business Solutions. Prior to this, Chandan worked with BDO New Zealand and New Zealand Trade and Enterprise. A graduate of INSEAD’s Executive Programme studying strategy and innovation, Chandan has qualifications in business, accounting and security including fraud prevention.
