We've got a couple of AMAs this week: 2degrees chief executive Stewart Sherriff on Friday (leave a question here) and, today, Eroad boss and major shareholder Steven Newman.
Mr Newman's fleet management and logistics company hit the NZX in August last year; today it has a market cap of $225 million (putting him firmly on NBR's Rich List radar, given his 27% stake plus proceeds from selling some of his shares).
Helping trucking companies wrangle road user charges (RUC) has been a key point of focus for Eroad in New Zealand and, more, in the US where it recently became the first first approved electronic Weight-Mile Tax (WMT) service provider – helping it land millions in new contracts in the state of Oregon where it has established its North American beach-head. Road user charges are being touted as the way the US can repair and upgrade its crumbling highways, and Eroad reckons it's well-positioned to help make that happen.
