Pressure has been mounting on Apple to reveal its plans for its cash pile, which now amounts to around $US100 billion.

Some investors want a special dividend; others are wondering if a big acquisition is ahead.

Either way, they'll find out tomorrow at 9am Monday US east coast time (2am Tuesday NZ time).

At that time, according to a statement by the company:

Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO, and Peter Oppenheimer, Apple’s CFO, will host a conference call to announce the outcome of the Company’s discussions concerning its cash balance. Apple will not be providing an update on the current quarter nor will any topics be discussed other than cash.

Last week Apple shares [NAS:AAPL] hit a new all-time high of $US600 last week (nearly double its 52-week low) before pulling back to $US585 - still leaving Apple the world's most valuable company with a market cap of $US544 billion.
