Saatchi & Saatchi director of strategy Murray Streets has left the Auckland-based agency, hot on the heels of chief executive Nicky Bell’s departure.

He left at the end of last year, industry publication Stop Press reports.

The adman joined Saatchi in 2004 as a senior planner and was promoted to director of strategy three years later.

"[Mr Streets] made a huge contribution during his time with Saatchi & Saatchi and played an important role in our transformation. Murray's a top bloke and we wish him all the best," Mr Wilson says.

The agency has hired Gina Williams from Colenso BBDO, who is filling the role of brand strategist.

Newly-promoted managing director Paul Wilson told Stop Press he is in discussions with “several really interesting candidates” and news will be "shared shortly."

The flight of senior employees from the local outpost of the world-famous agency comes after it lost notable clients Spark and Tui in recent months. It continues to work with a number of high-profile companies including ASB, Toyota and the NZ Defence Force.

NBR understands staff numbers have also dwindled over the past few years.

Ms Bell, who will leave the agency in March, is yet to publicly announce her next move but says she will "share the news" soon.

NBR has sought comment from Saatchi & Saatchi.
