Adrenalin-Forest, the aerial adventure operator, today announced that it has appointed Isaac Thomson as operations manager of its Christchurch Park.
Adrenalin Forest’s founder and managing director Jean Caillabet said, “Isaac is an extremely capable educator and instructor who has made a career in the outdoor adventure sector. He has seven years experience as an operations manager, 11 years as an outdoor leader facilitator, and has worked in this country and abroad. He is eminently qualified for this position.”
As operations manager, Isaac is responsible for the management of Adrenalin Forest’s adventure park in Spencer Park, 15 to 20 minutes drive north of central Christchurch.
His previous outdoor education sector experience includes roles with Boyle River Outdoor Education Centre in North Canterbury, Horizons Unlimited in Christchurch, and Camp Carolina and Green River Adventures in North Carolina, USA. These roles focused on team building and personal development utilizing rafting, kayaking, rock climbing, abseiling, overnight hiking, high ropes courses, canyoneering and adventure based learning. He has also been an operations manager for Kaiteriteri Kayaks, Abel Tasman Kayaks and Marahau Sea Kayaks.
Jean Caillabet says all three Adrenalin Forest adventure parks experienced an increase in visitor numbers last year.
“In 2015 we had a record 80,000 visitors, up from nearly 75,000 in the previous year and around 70,000 in 2013, on the back of an increase in domestic and international tourism. Overseas tourists account for around 30% of total visitors. Christchurch was our busiest park last year with 30,000 visitors, Porirua had 27,000 visitors and Bay of Plenty 23,000.”
