Tech start-up Tresata, co-founded by a New Zealander, has closed a $US50 million capital investment deal that values the data analytics company at $US1 billion.

The investment puts Tresata into the small club of ‘unicorns,’ a term coined for privately held start-ups worth a billion dollars
