Cost of data breaches increased by over $1m per incident worldwide - report

Cost of data breaches highest in 17 years; remote working a key factor.

According to a new global report by IBM, data breaches now cost companies an average of $6.1 million per incident, 10% up on last year. The report, which analysed more than 500 data breaches over the past year, found the costs are higher than at any point in 17 years.
