RBNZ consults on next options for curbing rising house prices

Debt-to-income ratios and minimum interest rates buffers are on the table.

The Reserve Bank is seeking feedback on the next tools in its kit for addressing the runaway housing market.

It doesn’t plan on using debt serviceability restrictions yet, but it wants to prepare for implementing them in case it needs to, deputy governor Geoff Bascand said.
