Border re-opening pushed back to end of Feb

Government is taking precautionary approach to new Covid-19 variant.

The government has confirmed that in the event of an outbreak of the new Covid-19 variant Omicron, it will not use lockdowns as an immediate response.

Instead, Covid-19 Response Minister Chris Hipkins said today any area hit by Omicron would be moved to the red-light level of the new Covid-19
