Former ANZ executive Fred Ohlsson appointed.
Investment and wealth management group Amplifi Group has announced that Fred Ohlsson will join the company as managing director.
Prior to this, Ohlsson spent nearly two decades with ANZ, with his most recent role as the Melbourne-based group executive of its Australia division with responsibilities including retail and private banking.
Originally from Sweden, he has spent much of the past decade in New Zealand with ANZ in managing director roles with responsibility for retail, business banking, and strategy.
Ohlsson concluded his career with ANZ in 2019 and has been providing independent consultancy services to New Zealand and Australian companies.
Amplifi Group was founded in late 2021 by Mint Asset Management’s employee shareholders and Ascentro Capital Partners with the goal to build New Zealand’s pre-eminent independent wealth management group of companies.
Mint Asset Management chief executive Rebecca Thomas has led the appointment of Ohlsson and is also the largest shareholder of Amplifi Group, which owns Mint.
Mint has $1.7 billion in funds under management including some of New Zealand’s most influential clients, such as the NZ Superannuation Fund.
Ohlsson said, “Joining Amplifi Group is an excellent opportunity and I am excited to see what we can do with the group based on the foundations established by Mint.”
