Amazon to invest $7.5b in NZ data centres

An estimated 1000 new full-time equivalent jobs will be created from the investment.

Amazon Web Services is investing $7.5 billion over the next 15 years in New Zealand data centre infrastructure, which it believes will contribute 1000 jobs to the country and $10.8b to GDP in that period.

The new AWS Asia Pacific (Auckland) Region will be owned and operated by a local AWS entity
