FMA ‘neutral’ on EY audit split, won’t name and shame firms

Market regulator says overall audit quality continues to improve in New Zealand.

The Financial Markets Authority says it is neutral as to whether EY’s proposed split of its audit and consulting arms will impact the quality of the firm’s auditing.

And it has no plans to start naming the firms involved in its annual audit quality reports, despite countries such as Australia
