The Government might have to pick up the tab for Mt Ruapehu

A ‘make good’ provision will kick in if one or both ski fields are shut down.

The Treasury has warned closing down the ski fields on Mt Ruapehu would cost the Government tens of millions of dollars.

But in a paper dated January 25, obtained by NBR under the Official Information Act, it still recommended the Government not give any more money to keep Whakapapa open, saying
