Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has announced the removal of Meka Whaitiri as a minister effective immediately.

Ms Ardern says she made the decision after receiving a report into allegations of bullying that occurred on August 27 in Gisborne, involving Ms Whaitiri and one of her staff.
