Optimistic economic forecasts if Covid-19 remains under control

NZIER warns supply constraints will, however, hamper growth.

NZIER is picking New Zealand’s annual economic growth will hit about 5% by the end of this year before moderating to just over 3.5% by 2025.

It is a more bullish outlook than the Treasury forecast in last week’s Budget Economic and Fiscal Update. The Treasury expects annual growth of 4.4%
