NZ rises to the top as world's freest economy

The annual Human Freedom Index uses 79 indicators of personal, civil and economic freedoms to rank 162 countries and jurisdictions worldwide.

New Zealand has been named the freest country in the world, capping a year in which it ranked top or close to it in a number of other benchmarking exercises.

The Fraser Institute’s annual Human Freedom Index is compiled in collaboration with a network of international public policy
