No rush to consider Labour’s leadership

While Labour was farewelling defeated MPs, National was greeting its new ones.

National leader Christopher Luxon will be moving into the Beehive while Labour’s Chris Hipkins is moving out.

The Labour Party is taking its time after suffering a heavy defeat in Saturday’s election.

It won just 26.85% of the party vote, while National won 38.99%. National is in a position to form a government, possibly just with support from Act, but will likely also need support from New Zealand First.
