Workplace Relations and Safety Minister Brooke van Velden has rejected suggestions her proposed changes to the Holidays Act could disadvantage women.

Under one proposal sick leave would be acquired on a pro rata basis, meaning a part-time worker would not be eligible for the full entitlement of 10
