Isolation times are reduced as country moves to next phase of Omicron response

The number of cases is expected to continue to rise but schools and businesses remain open.

From 11.59pm Tuesday New Zealand will move to phase two of the government’s Omicron response.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern announced the decision, which was made at Monday's Cabinet meeting, and came after the Ministry of Health reported 981 new cases today, having reported 810 yesterday.
