Govt welcomes trustee tax rate recommendation

Only about 49,000 trusts – out of 400,000 -– will have to pay the 39% rate.

Low earning trusts no longer face the prospect of paying the top tax rate of 39% after Parliament’s finance and expenditure select committee recommended that those earning no more than $10,000 a year continue to be taxed at 33%.
