Government extends transport subsides – again

PM Chris Hipkins said it was the right thing to do, despite a further $718 million cost.

The Government is extending the cut in the fuel tax and half-price public transport.

The Government is extending half-price public transport and the 25 cent cut in the fuel excise tax until the end of June.

As well, it is re-introducing the road user charge discount, which had ended yesterday, and that too will go until the end of June.
