Coalition will not rush Auckland light rail project

Transport minister says four lanes on Auckland to Whangarei motorway will happen eventually.

Transport Minister Phil Twyford is promising a decision on Auckland’s light rail project in a couple of months, once the Cabinet considers the proposal in March.

Then ministers will get to decide whether to back a joint proposal from the New Zealand Superannuation Fund and Canadian firm CDPQ
