Coalition backs off proposal to can forest sinks as offset for emissions

The government today ruled out a recommendation that forest sinks not be used to offset carbon dioxide emissions.

That recommendation was made in the Parliamentary Commissioner for the Environment Simon Upton’s report on farms, forests and fossil fuels.
