Auckland looks likely to be in lockdown for at least four weeks

Jacinda Ardern says government is taking cautious approach as Delta variant is more infectious, moves quicker.

The country south of Auckland will move from alert level 4 to level 3 from midnight next Tuesday.

But Aucklanders have been told to expect to stay in level 4 lockdown for another two weeks beyond that. Northland will also remain in lockdown after Tuesday, but for how much longer is less
